Secret Place

This is a type of the Holy Spirit which lights the word.

Secret Place

Lamp stand, shewbread, only types of Him,

into whose presence, I must now come.

Not trusting the ritual of the stand and bread,

but looking unto Him in that Secret Place.

Putting aside all types and shadows,

facsimiles and caricatures of Him.

What my mind thinks will not suffice.

My eye must behold Him in the Secret Place.

Then I will know who He really is.

Not just what men would say,

or types and shadows show.

Then will I learn to be

content in Him,

only in Him.
