No Longer Defective and Powerless
We struggle with knowing God because of humans who hurt us. How do we overcome the fear that the various hurts inflicted on us? Especially the hurts we cannot remember. We base our actions upon early learning in our families and an identity that is the base of operations for our behaviors. The identity we live out is a lie and keeps us from others and God. Yet, each of us yearns to be truly known and loved. God made us for relationship with Himself and with others. So, how do we get free to be ready for Him as a bride?
This article and others like it are dedicated to helping the Lord’s bride get free of the lies that keep her from Him and believe the depth of His great love for her. The heart of the Bridegroom cries out for those who would stand to the task to help the bride get ready for Him. She is His desire. He is the Prince searching for Cinderella. He is the greatest lover of all time searching for His bride. The scriptures tell us in Eph. 5:25-27 “and gave Himself up for her, so He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.” This is the bride’s destiny. This is the one for whom He searches.
What He did for us is already settled in heaven. We are holy and blameless, made so by His blood. But we often fail at believing this is so, and we find ourselves unable to appropriate this understanding. The result is a lack of intimacy with Him and stunted relationships with others.
As you read the various topics know that some of them may not be for you yet, but others will be. That is all right. We cannot understand new truth until we are ready. Months or years from now, what did not speak to you now may make sense. Also, as you read some things and it lays your heart bare, you may feel overwhelmed by all that needs to change. This will be especially hard if you are performance-based.Remember this truth. You only need to take the next step. Let Him show you what the next step is and take just that one step. Then keep stepping into His glorious presence. It is why He died for you. He is able, but you are not. Let Him be God, submit and keep stepping into His love.
